The Department fosters outreach and scholarly activity through the education of Under graduate and Post graduate residents. The department offers a three year residency program to train Post graduate residents in advanced diagnostic and clinical techniques necessary to provide specialty care to children, adolescents and individuals with disabilities.
The faculty of our department has an ambitious vision of continued growth and development over the coming academic years. Faculty Continued to work in line with its mission to not only to develop good doctors but also groom students into socially conscious , scientifically inclined and well- rounded personalities.
The oral pathology laboratory accepts biopsy and surgical tissue specimen for histopathological evaluation and diagnosis from medical and dental departments of this institution. We undertake diagnostic procedures such as routine haematological procedures, punch biopsies, fine needle aspiration cytology and exfoliative cytology. The laboratory also serves as a source for research projects undertaken by the faculty and postgraduate students of the college. We have fully functional and well equipped oral precancer/ cancer detection centre for screening any precancerous and cancerous lesions by the trained dental personal.

The Pediatric Dentistry Department in RCDSR has a child friendly reception area which is a visual treat for children and well equipped with RVG, Intra Oral Camera, Endomotor, Electrocautery, Conscious Sedation unit and pediatric dental chairs. Departmental OPD facilitates in exposure of handling various patients and performing different treatment modalities. There are eleven staff members in the Department dedicated to provide both clerical and clinical support to the program. All facilities within the campus are available for resident use, and Department Library constitutes various editions of International & National text books. The department runs an exclusive school health program for underprivileged children of schools around Bhilai.
