Rungta Dental College Organizes Free Dental Camp
Department of Public Health dentistry Rungta College of Dental Sciences and Research under the aegis of Sanjay Rungta Group of Institutions organized a free dental check-up and treatment camp for the resident of Chhawani Mangal Bazar Bhilai.
The camp was conjointly organized in Association with Akhil Bhartiya Agrawal Sammelan with the motto of providing dental treatment facility and increasing awareness about dental and oral diseases amongst people who somehow due to social economical reasons are not able to avail dental treatment facility. The camp was attended by people living around Mangal Bazar including school going children as well as old age adults who were checked thoroughly for their oral health.
The team of specialist doctors of Department of Public Health dentistry provided dental treatment to the patients at the Camp site itself with the help of the fully furnished mobile dental van for instance the procedures thereby performed included cleaning of teeth, filling of decayed teeth and removal of badly decayed teeth which were also the main complaints of the camp attendees.
The camp was attended by many people who had the ill habit of chewing or smoking tobacco and significant findings like oral pre-cancerous lesion which is the primary stage in oral cancer was present in many of the tobacco consumer. These people were asked to immediately quit tobacco and along with that they were referred for free treatment of these and pre-cancerous lesions in the hospital at the college premises. There is a team of dedicated oral and maxillofacial surgeons who are specialized in the treatment of oral cancer also the college has installed a tobacco cessation Centre to help people “QUIT TOBACCO”.
All the patients were provided camp cards to help them avail free treatment at the College Hospital. The college chairman Sanjay Rungta who was also present at the inauguration of the camp told that the college management is always ready to serve and provide dental treatment facility to all the sections of the society and the college provides free treatment to those attending the camp who are living below poverty line.
Oral check-up for 200 patients was done in the by the specialist team of doctors headed by Dr Ram Tiwari along with Dr. Payal Borkar, Dr. Aanchal Pradhan. Dr. Navneet choure, Dr. Deepa Manglani, Dr. Alisha Aggarwal, Dr. Gunjan Mogra, Dr. Iffat Nazar, Dr. Ayush Srivas, Dr. E. Amrutha Varshini extending their services in oral checkup and treatment.
